Maine Center for Disease Control & Prevention, Division of Chronic Disease

The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Chronic Disease supports numerous programs and performs a variety of functions to improve health and prevent or reduce the impact of disease. Programs use an ecological approach that considers individuals within the social, organizational, and environmental context in which they live. The division aims to reduce the rates of preventable chronic disease and improve health outcomes. They collect data and perform surveillance to monitor disease rates, trends, and evaluate programs.
