Achieving EHR adoption and Meaningful Use

Health InfoNet, Maines health information exchange, received a HITECH grant to serve as the Maine Regional Extension Center (MEREC) to offer primary care providers assistance selecting, adopting, and using EHRs in their practice to improve patient care. QC is providing quality improvement expertise, guidance, and support for linking EHR adoption with clinical improvement. QC is responsible for ensuring that the overall efforts of the MEREC and its vendors are guided by the framework of continuous improvement, aligning with QI work being done in other state, supporting providers to achieve meaningful use. Using a data-driven approach QC will work with MEREC to align EHR adoption with quality measurement and improvement.
