Lets Go! 5-2-1-0 Goes to School

This project was launched in nine schools in York County during the 2006-2007 school year. The program has spread to 345 schools areas across Maine. The goal of the project is to help schools educate students to engage in lifelong habits of healthy living with emphasis on nutrition and physical activity. The project engages school administrators, teachers, and school health coordinators to promote healthy lifestyle messages in the school setting and to work toward implementing and strengthening school wellness policies. The following year, project teamed up with the Let’s Go! a program of the United Way of Greater Portland.
